UKIYO for Astek

(noun) "The Floating World”; a place of fleeting beauty, living in the moment

Using the ancient Japanese marbling process of suminagashi, Ukiyo is a contemporary take on the floating ink technique. The designs were handcrafted using ink, water, and paper, then digitally transformed into compelling murals. Like its namesake, each composition is a suspended microcosm, captured before it dissipates.

Designed for Astek. Ukiyo is a NYCxDESIGN winner, an Interior Design magazine Best of Year winner for Best Contract Wallcovering, and a Hospitality Design Award winner.
